A Centenary History As Related to the Baptist General Conference of America Adolf Olson - U.S.A. Baptist Conference Press 1952 - 635tr. hardcover 24 cm

This book is the history of the denomination first known as the ""Swedish Baptist General Conference of America,"" then the ""Baptist General Conference,"" (and now ""Converge""), from 1852–1952. It claims not to be ""comprehensive"" but it covers so much ground, from the first Swedish Baptists in Sweden and the U.S., to the pioneering immigrants in the midwest, and the frontier evangelism, church-planting, and finally organization (missionary societies, seminary, press, etc.) The stories of dozens of churches, pastors, and lay-people are inspiring. There are some genuine heroes to be found in this history.
