| Summary, etc. | Marvin Vincent was a 19-century Presbyterian minister and professor of New Testament at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He is best known for his classic Word Studies in the New Testament. Vincent opened his Word Studies by remarking, ""New Testament commentaries are so numerous, and, many of them, so good, that a new essay requires some explanation. Vincent comments on the New Testament word-by-word from Matthew through Revelation, as if writing commentary on the word level (rather than the verse level). Readers need no formal language training to use this book in unlocking for themselves the riches of the New Testament.
