... In this book, Corrington bridges the gap between hermeneutical theory and hands-on textual analysis. At present, a great deal of work in hermeneutical theory remains at the conceptual level, and very little of this work makes its way to the actual interpretation of texts. The Continental tradition in particular lends itself to exercises in pure theory and conceptualization. Corrington provides a theoretical framework that accommodates the pluralistic approach to hermeneutics.
