Hanson chooses to analyze two tensions within the Bible: that between kings and prophets which leads to a form/reform polarity, and that between apocalyptic seers and priests which leads to a visionary/pragmatic polarity. These polarities provide a firm biblical basic for a dynamic theology which extends beyond biblical times to address the community of faith today.
