Chính Chúa Giêsu sau khi sống lại, đã truyền cho các Tông đồ đi thâu nạp môn đồ khắp muôn dân, dạy cho họ mọi người điều mà Người đã truyền dạy cho các ông (Mt 28,19-20). Như vậy tất cả mọi người đều được mời gọi để trở nên môn đệ của Chúa. Nếu có môn đệ thì cần phải có người Thầy chỉ dẫn. Vậy người Thầy đó là ai? Đó chính là Chúa Giêsu, người Thầy chí thánh.
