In the twentieth century in England, there was a virally debatable work, namely, `Honest to God`, by Dr. J. A. T. Robinson, Anglican bishop of Woolwich. The book reinterepreted the Gospel in order to meet the needs of modern man. Yet, Rev. Whitney, the author of this book - Christ in Conflict - states that the `gospel` presented by Dr. Robinson bears only a terminological resemblance to the Gospel as proclaimed by the Bible.
