520 _aThis was a book that was selected by the Billy Graham organization to help encourage faith. It really is well written, and is the story of Lane and his struggle to be a Christian in his home as well as in his life as a minister. He makes some very good points and backs up his theories with references to Paul's life and ministry. Everyone expects to be able to live immediately as a Christian after conversion, but Lane researches Paul's life and finds that Paul spent approximately 18 years `becoming` a christian before he made the travels we can read about in the New Testament. Lane explains the importance of the ten commandments in the practice of family life, but then looses his direction when he explains that the commandment `Thou shalt not steal` means that that God means us to have private property, and not have to share it, so socialism is against the teaching of the Bible. This is quite a reach, and disregards the early church in Acts sharing everything they had.
